Made It Outside
Even though a little snow tends to shuts things down here in the South, at least the impact is short lived.
By mid-day Saturday, the roads were clear and dry. So, around 3 pm I headed out for a 17 mile run. The temperature was up to 42F, so I opted for shorts and two shirts.
It turned out to be a nice afternoon. There was still snow on the bridges on the greenway and in the woods but the sun had melted a good bit of it.
What I didn’t account for was that the west wind would pick up and by blowing over the remaining snow increase the chilling effect. By mile 11, I had sweated enough that I was getting chilled. So, I called Gayle to meet me with a wind jacket. I’m sure she thought I was calling her to pick up. Once I got the jacket, it made all the difference for the last 4 miles.
Here are the splits…..

Now that looks downright pretty. Glad you enjoyed it!!
My chart tells me two shirts plus a sleeveless nylon shell at 42. Sounds like you got there too…your wife is a pal!!
Solid run, David…very consistent pace.

Fantastic 17 miler in ideal contions. 42 may be a bit cool, but it’s hard to over heat. Thanks for sharing the pics.
