Taper Time

Yesterday marked the first day of the taper. I will say, though, that the taper in Pfitz’s plan is not a drastic as the one in Higdon’s plans. Pfitz still has you doing speed work to keep the intensity up even as you reduce the mileage.

So with yesterday’s 8 mile run with 5 x 600m intervals and today’s 5 mile recovery run behind me, tomorrow I get to rest.

Sun: Rest/Bike
Mon: 8 miles – 1:12:52, w/ 5 x 600m intervals
Tues: 5 miles – 47:58, 9:34 pace
