Back on the Road

I took two days off from running to let my legs and body recuperate. I did go by the Y Tuesday afternoon and worked up a sweat sitting in the whirlpool. So after two days rest, it was good to get out and run this afternoon.

Winter returned to Middle Tennessee overnight. We went from in the 50′s on Tuesday to a high in the upper 20′s today. There was a little ice on the roads and light snow showers all day, just enough to get the kids out of school.

So I bundled up and headed out this afternoon. The first time running after a marathon is like walking on ice. I try an be very careful and make sure the soreness is gone and I’m not going to cause an injury by trying to do to much to soon.

Everything seemed to be in working order with still some stiffness in my quads for the hills on Sunday but, all in all, a good run.

Training for the week
Sun: Mercedes Marathon 26.2 miles – 4:11:11, 9:34 pace
Mon: Rest
Tues: Rest
Wed: 5 miles – 46:09, 9:13 pace

We are getting the same hot/cold/hot/cold changes in weather – I never have any idea how to dress!!

Congrats again on your marathon & glad you had a good run. I can’t imagine how stuff my legs would be if I ran as far as you do!!
