Daily Run – 1/17/06

As expected heavy rains today so I ran 3 miles on the treadmill at the Y. The Y was having an open house this afternoon for folks to try the Y for free, so there were alot of people.

Since the weather was bad, ate lunch at my desk and read several of George Sheehan’s essays. The essay titled: Reading and Writing: Emerson is very good. Dr. Sheehan says: “Wisdom comes after information and knowledge. Books provide the scaffolding that allows us to build our own system of thought.” The word of ideas offers us so many lanes to go down, what a better time to process them, explore them and develop them as our own except during the solitude of running.
