Double Time
I have come to believe that time moves faster on Saturday…double time.
Even though I get up at the same time on Saturday that I do during the week, before I know it is noon and then supper time. Time must move faster on Saturday. It must.
It was cool again this morning. After such a good run yesterday afternoon, here I was out running 17 miles in less than 12 hours.
I kept to my normal, long run pattern of warming up for 5 miles and then keeping my heart rate within a specific range. From the beginning, my legs felt tired but I kept telling myself that after Friday’s run they should and that this was good training for the last few miles in Huntsville.
During these long runs I just watch my heart rate and don’t pay attention to pace or time, therefore I was really pleased when I finished and saw that my average pace was 8:56. No wonder my legs felt tired! I guess the day was already moving in double time.

Oh wow…my legs were tired for my 17 and I told Michele the very same thing – that this run must be training for those last 6 miles of the marathon. Although my pace didn’t turn out to be quite as fast as yours..I think mine was 9:24.
Also – did you notice that every run you did this week was sub 9:00/mile? That is awesome – you are super strong!

Nice job on the run!!
Yes, what is up with Saturdays… is there a petition we can sign or something to get it to last longer??
