Back Outside

I’ll take hot and slow outside over a treadmill inside any day. After two and a half weeks of doing afternoon runs on the treadmill and 3 am long runs, the temperature had moderated enough for me to run outside today.

It was 90 degrees with only 40 percent humidity when I headed out the door. I knew I would not set any speed record but it was good to run and actually feel like I had covered some ground.

I knew I could not be too concerned about the time because I had not run in the heat in several weeks. But all in all it was a good run and it was good to be outside and dripping sweat!

Training for the week
Sun: XT/Bike 11 miles
Mon: 8 miles – 1:16:32, 9:34 pace
Tues: Ran 9 miles – 1:20:38 – 8:57 pace/5 x 1000m @ 7:30 pace
Wed: Rest/swam @ Y
Thur: 12 miles – 1:59:05, pace 9:54

Wow…when 90 feels cool, you know it’s hot.

Solid run. In cooler temps, you are going to be awesome!
